Best Time for Bird Watching

Spring and early autumn are ideal for bird watching in the Sado estuary when many migratory birds stop here.

Due to the rice fields, there can be an increase in mosquitoes on still evenings, especially in summer. Mosquito repellent is highly recommended for dusk.

There are beautiful nature trails through the pine forests and along the cliffs (e.g., at Galé). The paths are often sandy, so sturdy shoes are an advantage.

As mentioned, early morning is magical for the mist and bird watching. Alternatively, the late afternoon offers the spectacular "golden hour" light, perfect for photography as the sun dips behind the pines.

The flat, sandy trails are ideal for a leisurely bicycle ride. While we do not provide bikes directly at the villa, bicycles can easily be rented nearby (we will gladly provide you with a list of the best local rental spots!).

This is a delicate ecosystem and a working agricultural area. Please ensure you stay on the marked trails, do not enter the flooded paddies, and take any trash back with you to help preserve the pristine beauty of the region.
